black and white has soul
Here are a few images I pulled from our Hawaii trip a few months back. For some reason these are ones that got looked over. Makes me wonder how many more images I have on hard drives that I didn't give the time of day for whatever reason. Kind of a tragic thought actually. I'm glad I went back for these.

I've been enjoying the solidness that Alien Skin has made available over the last few years. Recently they released Exposure 3. It's so great. Give it a whirl for yourself (free 30 day trial) and share with others what you come away with. It's no replacement for shooting film but in my opinion it has a uniqueness to it that you can't ignore. There are so many tools for photographers now it can be pretty overwhelming. I think Exposure 3 might be the answer of simplicity for me.

wow thanks for telling about the free trial. i signed up for it on saturday and have been having so much fun with it. i will definitely have to buy it someday. these images are beautiful. i would be curious to know which filters you used on them. i reallllly love the one that is just water.

i miss fall
I was digging through an old hard drive the other day and found these forgotten images from the fall of 2007. It hurts me a little to look at these since the fall is my favorite time of year. This was a backpacking trip I took with some close friends of mine. We spent a good chunk of time on a section of the Ozark Highlands trail near White Rock Mountain. Some of my favorite moments in life took place on this trip. I'm so glad I saved these images from death by hard drive.

13 days until I climb Longs Peak in Colorado with my good friends Josh and Aaron. So stoked.
