Spent the last week with the American Alpine Institute on Mt. Baker. The trip was easily amongst my favorites. Within a 12 hour window, we summited Baker, I was attacked by a squirrel and my left toenail got completely destroyed (for the second time this year). The week was well rounded and quite awesome. Here are a few of my favorite frames from the trip. A mix of iPhone and not-so-iPhone photos. Enjoy!

Cheers to good company, AAI and the Cascades!

A few years ago Carl Was Here began. The only thing I knew is that I didn’t want some of my favorite images to die on a hard drive. I had no idea where it would lead or what kind of legs it would grow. I only knew that I should start something and let it ferment.

I’m beyond excited for Carl Was Here as it moves directly towards the lifestyle I’ve grown to love, long for and respect:  life outside and all the adventure it calls for. My dreams don’t stop at outdoor and adventure photography but scoot a bit beyond in search of ways to help preserve this planet and its most beautiful places.

My new site is rich with some of my favorite places, moments in time and people. Follow along as the adventures will expand.

My new site also has an online store! You’ll find fine art prints and some of my favorite Instagram shots available for purchase. Please share this with everyone you know. And their dog.

I will still be shooting a select number of weddings and portrait sessions each year, as I am and will always be deeply moved by people’s love together as well as their stories. I’m stoked, as I’ve already booked a number of shoots that will be photographed deep in the mountains. :)

I’m thankful for you who have followed along, however long you have.  If our paths haven’t already, I hope they will soon.

Cheers // Enjoy life.
