Life as i knew it changed pretty significantly earlier this year. So far it’s been a process of re-invention, discovery, retuning and healing. Around the same time, my friend David and i took a trip to Broken Bow lake in southeast Oklahoma. We brought the kayaks, paddled out to a remote island and stayed a handful of nights in that area. Our only plan for the trip was to drive to Broken Bow and leave four days later. The photos below are some of my favorite scenes of how life unfolded between arrival and departure. This trip offered clarity for me in ways i never could’ve imagined.
Go outside. Breathe.

2010 has been beautiful to me. I’ve met so many amazing people from across the country and I’m better for it. This weekend in Turlock, California marked my last wedding of the year and I got to spend it with friends I grew up with. It couldn’t have ended any better. To top it off I drove out to Yosemite yesterday to spend a few hours in a legendary place that I’ve only read stories and catalogs about. It surpassed the preconceived. I only hope to return with a backpack and a weeks worth of time. I’ll get to working on that!
I fly home today, pack up again and head out to New Orleans tomorrow for
Partnercon (photog conference.) I’m pretty stoked to cross paths with friends and to walk the filthy Bourbon Street once again. Perhaps I’ll see you there.
